How to paint a textured Coconut in watercolour

Coconuts are not only really healthy (they can even lower bad cholesterol!), they’re also full of different textures and rounded form to paint.

So in this video I show you how I go about painting the hairy shell whilst also giving it a curved shape:

If you enjoy the video, and have any texture tips to share, please let me know in the comments below!

This is so lovely! As usual, your patience and attention to detail blows me away! It amazes me how anyone with children, especially a baby, gets any art done!

Lovely! Thank you so much for all your tips, books, and classes! It’s largely because of learning from you that I am not so afraid of watercolor anymore. Watercolor was my favorite medium back in college, but there were no classes where I went to teacheck me more than some simple basics. Now I am conquering more difficult subjects with joy! Thank you! I am working on a goat picture right now, so this hairy subject is super helpful! 🙂

    OK! You got me!!
Amazon has your new book on pre-order, so I immediately ordered it!

Your teaching and methods are exactly what I have needed! I’ve tried watercolor before and never produced anything worth showing. With your techniques and teaching I can finally achieve a quality watercolor painting!

I originally thought I could draw a coconut myself – but was hopeless on the perspective – but used your line drawing and went from there. Absolutely fantastic video, full of useful tips on the process, I loved it. What’s next. with thanks,
