How to paint a bright, rounded, 3D petal in watercolour

At my wedding (2 years ago almost exactly… where does the time go!?) I knew I wanted sweet peas to feature – their fragrance is just heavenly and their petals are soooo pretty.

We ended up with them scattered in jam jars (ours was not a very formal wedding!) all over the courtyard garden where we held it. Oh and of course, we had afternoon tea too!

So in this little tip video I thought I’d share with you how I went about painting the vivid dark red petals on these sweet peas:

I hope the video inspires you to tackle some flowers with bright, shapely petals!

If you do, don’t forget to show me by posting via social media using #AnnaMasonArt.

Happy painting,
