How to paint a realistic tree frog in watercolour

A vibrant little dude like this Tree Frog contains so many colours, it can be daunting to paint in watercolour. How do you paint them all without having them muddy or mix into each other?

Let me walk you through my process in this little video:

I hope this encourages you to try painting your own multi-coloured subject!  If you enjoyed the video, please leave me a comment below, I love reading them.

Happy painting,

So very glad to see your frog video up & it looks amazing on the magazine cover. Don’t know how you do everything with 2 kids, I have trouble with one dog. I look forward to starting your classes next month, it’s my treat to myself.

Beautiful watercolour Anna. Your little tree frog came to life in this painting. I loved watching you paint. I have two of your beautiful books but watching this video of your painting growing from a line drawing to this colourful finish is wonderful art in action.x
